Federal Network Agency warns of defective microinverters
As part of the increasingly popular balcony solar systems, the Federal Network Agency has tested solar inverters. Illegal inverters were found in both stationary and online retail.
Among other things, inverters were discovered without the necessary CE approval, a missing German operating manual or a missing European contact person.
Specifically, proceedings were initiated against some market participants and further audits were initiated.
Tips for consumers from the Federal Network Agency:
- Only order from reputable sources. Find out about the provider
- Can the dealer be reached in the EU and is there a local address?
- does the product have a CE mark?
- Is there a description of your product in German?
- The seller answers questions
- Is the price for the product understandable and within reason?
- can the plug type be used in Germany?
