Lightning protection
Separate lightning protection is not legally stipulated for balcony power plants and solar systems. However, you should check the installation of a surge protector in the meter cabinet. This protects all cables that lead into the house. This includes not only the usual house connection to the power grid, but also the cabling of the PV system. If lightning strikes near your house, the photovoltaic system and your electronics are protected. For balcony power plants, feeding directly into the meter cabinet with separate protection is also suitable. On the one hand, your feed-in is kept separate from your other electricity consumers and in the event of a lightning strike, not all devices should be affected by damage.
